Who's behind it all?
Hello there! I’m Amanda, and I’m so excited to e-meet you! Let me share a little about my journey and what fuels my passion for design.

I grew up in the charming city of Richmond, VA, where I spent my first 17 years before enlisting in the US Navy during my senior year of high school. My military adventure took me to sunny San Diego, CA, where I proudly served on two aircraft carriers and a destroyer for eight incredible years. After my service, I felt it was time to transition from serving my country to serving my family, and that’s when I discovered my true calling.

You might be wondering how I became an interior designer. Well, design has always been in my blood! I spent countless hours watching my mom create art, paint, sew, and transform our home by turning the old into something new. And yes, she had a knack for rearranging furniture (trust me, I’m going somewhere with this!). Her creativity and the joy it brought her inspired me every day—I guess you could say I truly got it from my mama!

After college, I dove into my first corporate job at a Steelcase furniture dealer. That’s where my quirky love for rearranging furniture turned into my superpower—space planning and reconfiguring became my life! I still remember my first installation like it was yesterday. I wanted to see the final product come to life, so I headed to the site. As I walked in, I was met with the sounds of excited chatter from the end users, thrilled about their new workstations. It was in that moment that I fell head over heels for commercial furniture design! Knowing I could have such a positive impact on someone’s workspace—where they’d spend most of their day—was incredibly powerful. From the natural lighting to the inviting color palette and the ergonomic workstations, every detail contributed to creating an amazing space.

With over 12 years of experience in the design industry, I’ve had the privilege of working across various sectors, including residential, hospitality, education, corporate, and healthcare design. As much as I love commercial design, my heart will always belong to residential spaces, which are at the root of my passion. And here I am, living my dream and connecting with clients to create beautiful environments for both residential and commercial projects.

Design isn’t just my profession; it’s the heartbeat of my creative journey. I’m dedicated to helping clients create spaces that exceed their expectations—places that are not only beautiful but also functional, comfortable, and healthy—where people can truly thrive. I partner closely with each client, ensuring their needs and dreams shape every decision we make together.

Studio Eight is more than just a business; it’s a reflection of my passion for design and my commitment to creating positive, empowering experiences for everyone involved. I can’t wait to embark on this exciting journey with you!
